Corporate Partner

This is a unique opportunity to partner Communities Living Sustainably (CLS) Dorset and position your organisation at the very heart of sustainable living in Dorset. By becoming a Corporate Partner you will be acknowledged as a key supporter of CLS Dorset with your company or business benefiting from this high profile association.

CLS Dorset aims to create positive alternatives to tackle local economic and environmental challenges, and develop resilience among local communities. We both create and strengthen existing networks, working with community organisations across Dorset.  Above all we are a catalyst and facilitator, supporting community innovation.

Dorset is one of 12 Communities Living Sustainably (CLS) programmes supported by the Big Lottery Fund across England, and is the only such programme in the Southwest. The lead partner for CLS Dorset is Dorset Community Action (DCA), and we have the convening power to bring together public, private, third sector organisations and community groups into effective partnerships.

Our achievements to date have included:

Staging over 140 events, including a bi-annual programme to mark Climate Week and One World Week, which hosted international speakers, weather forecaster Michael Fish and film-maker Jamie Catto.

Establishing Dorset Community Energy, which secured £150,000 community investment in solar PV to produce electricity for Dorset schools and village halls.

Supporting local food businesses and community growing by founding Food Future Bridport as a pioneering public engagement tool, and creating a sustainable food network.

Influencing behavioural change amongst Dorset residents and businesses to lower their carbon footprint and cut costs in the home and at work.

Developing a network of 10 Community Woodland initiatives.

Helping farming and fishing sectors adapt to extreme weather, by working with various local authorities and emergency services to develop community resilience plans.

Working with 12 schools and over 3000 pupils to gain their Green Flag Eco Schools Status.
